years ago our family recorded a made for TV movie "Good King Wenceslaus" We watched it countless times, never dreaming it would never be shown again. We have found it on imbd but it has never been shown again or converted, etc.
The tape is, understandably, stretched beyond it's capacity. We are wondering if there is a reputable and, therefore, safe place we can send this tape to to be restored at least so that we can burn it onto a DVD so that we can watch it enough to follow the story. You know, enough to make out the figures on the screen pretty well and hear the dialogue fairly well.
we just bought a panasonic DMR-EA38VK bruner/converter but are hesitant to play it one more time to convert/burn because we're afraid it might break that one last play time, thinking that perhaps a professional should look at it first.

Even though our youngest is now 23, we all still talk about that movie and darn if not every Christmas one of us is searching the internet for a copy. All we find are more people searching the internet for a copy!

    Thanks for any advice!

sure..there are pro labs in every major city that can transfer it for you to DVD
but even if it broke, you can just splice it back together...no biggie

OH MY GOODNESS! it IS the Stephanie Powers/Brandis movie! I can't believe you located one this year!!! thank you sooooo much. This is the first time, since we just bought the converter/burner, I didn't first look for one to buy! This is wonderful. I will take a fuzzy version over a tape that is so stretched we can barely tell what language it's in! Our 'kids' will be THRILLED! I won't tell them I found it. Even if it doesn't show up until after Christmas, they will surely be convinced all over again that there is a Santa Claus afterall

Your next project should be to convert the retail VHS to a DVD.
