joining files with HJsplit

suppose we have four bifurcated files such as 001,002,003,004. we are using HJsplit to join the files. i want to get two files out of these four. i want to combine files 001 , 002 first. i can easily do that. i get a video. then i want another file combining the next two files viz 003 and 004. i rename them as 001 and 002 respectively. then i open them in HJsplit. it gives me a file combining the two but it will not play in any of the players available. WMP,or VLC. how can i accomplish this task? my idea is to combine the last two files (003 and 004)

You have to join all four then use another program to split the big AVI into two segments.

Most video formats have a header at the beginning of the file that describes the contents. Without the header players won't be able to do anything with the data.

thanks jagabo for the suggesitions. the problem is i joined all the four. then i splitted into two getting two files from boilsoft av1 splitter. in that i found audio synchronise problem. audio delay i found. in the original file (all the four joined)the audio is perfect when i split with boilsoft it is disturbed. any idea?

a group files i downloaded and tried to join with hjsplit. but i got an ms dos application file instead of a video. any idea? after making a post here ,,for example this post itself,,
when i when when i took a file for edit, sometimes am not able to do it in the proper way. the letters i type is deleting the existing letters. i mean i am not able to insert the letters i type in between the words already there. any help? is it because of the the disconnection of the internet? or something else?

Press the Ins key on your keyboard to change between insert and overwrite mode.

I recommend you NOT run the exe file. It may be a trojan.
