You know when you right click on a file and you have the 'open with' option...you select it and get a list of programs to choose from or at least get to browse for one?
Well, it's not there any more...the open with option is there but if I select it it just opens another popup that says open with...if I select that it does nothing.
Same thing with any type of file...anyone ever see this?

actually I did...I don't know why but I used a program I was unfamiliar with. I can't even remember what it was now as I instantly deleted it since I noticed the problem right away and assumed it might have something to do with it. I did a restore point with windows but if that was the issue it apparently did work....

  4. Read this you get an idea http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html . If you google how to manage shell extensions you'll find some info. It can be done in registry too but I would not recommend it, you have to know what you are doing to edit registry.
