Hi all, I'm running Windows XP SP2 and have this peculiar problem with Japanese fonts: I can't view them (filenames, directory names. etc.) in Windows Explorer.
I've set up the Languages in the Control Panel as directed but they just don't display correctly: I just get nonsensical characters instead... Oddly, when I click on the Properties of one of those files, the Japanese fonts appear correctly in the file name window... Inexplicable.
To further confuse me, I have a second PC with the same Windows installation, and the Japanese fonts appear correctly in Windows Explorer.
I suppose something's hosed in the Registry regarding Windows Explorer, but I haven't a clue where to look.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Hi there, Yagyu-sama ^_^
To further confuse me, I have a second PC with the same Windows installation,
and the Japanese fonts appear correctly in Windows Explorer.
and use the same driversI know this might sound highly insane
,
but wicked video drivers may have issues with 2-byte "codepages"
under certain display resolutions. -
Been years since I've done this. Adding Japanese fonts to IE is easy but dealing with two byte fonts in the Windows OS used to mean buying the Japanese version of Windows + Japanese Keyboard and fonts.
See if this helps

But like I said, I can view the fonts correctly when I right click the file and view the details under Properties... So it's not a resolution issue, I think.Frank Zappa: "People wouldn't know a good movie if it smacked 'em in the face." -
