    Hi All
Can anyone explain this annoying and frustrating situation. I have sat down with friends and ventured down memory lane with my home burnt DVD's that are produced using Pinnacle Studio. Then after an hour or more, the video will start to stutter and then stop. If I then insert disk immediatly into another dvd player, it plays OK. The following day i insert the same DVD into the first player, guess what, it plays perfectly.

This has happened before at a friends house, following a lengthy trip down Memory Lane, the same happens. Then in the morning the disk plays OK! Could it be overheating as DVD's are hot when removed?

    Has anyone experienced this?

It could be overheating. DVD players don't have fans in them, so they need to air cool. Heat buildup is a real danger today and unless your player is in an extremely well ventilated area, it's a possibility. Manufacturers love the trend towards small, thin players because they burn out sooner if they don't have adequate air cooling, so that means that you have to buy a replacement player sooner - a win for them in an era of declining prices. Economics may have forced them to sell players at under $100, but that doesn't mean that they are going to build them to last.

I might also try some different media.
