  1. Hi

This is my first post to this forum and I have to admit I am not very technically minded so please forgive me if any question I ask is silly or one that has been asked before.

I am using DVD Flick to put together my wedding video. I managed to create the disk OK but when I play it in a standalone DVD player, connected to a TV not a computer, the DVD will play for a while but then freezes (all this suggests to me there is soemthing wrong with the DVDs I am burning too rather than the software but you never no). Can anyone help?

I am using Verbatim DVDs. My DVD player is fairly new (bought within the last 4 years). The computer I am using to create the DVD is fairly new (uses Windows 7). I am looking to avoid having to purchase costly DVD authoring software or having to pay someone to produce the DVD for me, if possible.

Any help you can give will be appreciated (but do spell what I will need to do out too me as I like I say I am not overly technically minded).

    All Thanks

    Dan

Use ImgBurn to burn the DVD?

  3. Thanks hech45.

However when you say use ImgBurn do you mean use this instead of DVD Flick or create the ISO image using DVD Flick and then use ImgBurn to burn that to DVD?

    All Thanks

Exactly.....although ImgBurn also burns DVD folders as well(VIDEO_TS folders).

Put a blank DVD in your burner and start up ImgBurn. It will show you the media code on the disc. Don't worry - it won't write to the disc. It's just reading the code. You could post the code here. It might be interesting for those of us in the USA/Canada to figure out if you're getting the same cheap crap Verbatim discs that they sell here under their "Life" brand. Most of Verbatim's discs are excellent, but it's now getting harder to find them anywhere except online because the North American consumer who goes to physical stores demands cheap discs and the only way Verbatim can offer those is to use the same low quality manufacturers all the other companies (except Taiyo Yuden) use who sell blank DVDs in the USA/Canada.

Additionally, try burning at slower speed (not more than 4x) using ImgBurn. If you do have low quality discs, sometimes burning at a lower speed can give better results.

  6. I just wanted to thank you both (hech54 and jman98) for replying to my posts, that seems to have worked brilliantly.
