I re-installed it and my problem went away..but a new one arose.
Now it says "Error!:Statsfile not found" and after i click ok it shows another error "Virtualdub Error:Cannot start video compression- The operation is not supported.(error code -1)".....What can I do to fix this problem? Its so frustrating, all I want to do is convert an mkv file -
Either you're trying to run the 2nd pass without first having run the first pass, or you didn't set a name and destination for the stats file.

Yay, I got it to work thanks to manono but Virtualdub crashed
so i tryed again but still no success
it shows this error whenever it crashes "An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'libavcodec'...
...reading address 00000000." -
Please! Can someone reply on how to fix this, its quite frustrating.

Gspot? What is that.... Its an mkv file with a h.264 stream and an aac stream but VirtualDub crashes when i try to save it as an avi
-
So there's no way to fix this besides switching to a different converter?...God Damnit!!
-
-bump- I still need help, does anyone know how to fix my VIRTUALDUB problem?
-
If you're using AviSynth to open your MKV file then VirtualDub isn't the problem. There is a problem in your DirectShow MKV file splitter or the codec that's decoding the video (ffdshow?).
In my experience, MKV is mostly a write only format. It can be very difficult to convert to anything else.
