    hello
i recently bought a jvc hd7u camcorder. used it and put some videos on my computer. All the files are tod. I want to be able to convert these files so that i can use them in Ulead videostudio 11. Ive tried mpeg streamclip put every time i put one of the tod files on the batch list, and select "convert to MPG with MP2 audio", it says "1 file was not added to the batch list for the following reason: unsupported file type". Am i doing something wrong or is there a better converter?
People have also suggested in buying Ulead 11.5 plus because it can handle the tod files without conversion. will dvds that i make with the files be able to play on non-hd dvd players?

You would think it would be easy to just pick a standard, and adopt it, instead or producing all these different variants that nobody supports. Putting your conversion issues to one side however, the second question is easy to answer. If you create a DVD, it will be playable on standard, non-HD DVD players. Why, because DVDs are not HD, so all your HD footage will be resized down to SD as part of the process.

It is possible to put HD footage on a DVD, however this does not produce a DVD Video disc, and cannot be played in standard DVD players.
