I recently transferred files from my JVC Everio HDD camera onto my computer. I usually use MPEG Streamclip to convert them for my editing purposes. However, this time I am getting and error saying that video and audio fields could not be recognized. I am pretty sure the files got corrupted during the transfer process. Since this time I have not had any other issues with the camera transferring the files correctly. What are some techniques I can use to fix these files and save my videos? It is very important. I already tried putting them back on the camera and playing it back. The JVC camera just erases them automatically. I need help!

    Thanks.

  2. try gspot, mediainfo, vlc, tda, mpeg video wizard. if nothing can open them they're just unusable, nothing's going to fix them.

next time don't erase them off the cam until you are sure they play ok on the computer.

Unfortunately those programs did not work. I feel the file is corrupted and needs to be fixed before any program will open them correctly. Any ideas on how to do that?

  4. therein lies the problem, if nothing can open them, nothing can fix them. especially since they are in a weird format to begin with.

restream is about the only other repair app that might work.
