Hi Guys,
Ive got a JVC HD3 everio which outputs HD footage to TOD files.
WHat's the best way to compress and shrink these raw files to something that's uploadable and shareable?
Im currently using MPEG Streamclip to convert to MPG/MP4 but the output is really pale.
I dont really understand the settings but I'm outputting to PAL 30 fps.
Im not sure why the output is so pale. Can anyone help?
CHeers,
Perc01

https://forum.videohelp.com/topic333566.html can perhaps shed some light on your topic. Seems like TOD=mpg, so any conversion applicable to mpg should work for tod files. But "uploadable" and "shareable" usually implies lowering quality and resolution, so don't expect miracles.
If your target audience is on Windows, I'd encode to wmv using WMM or WME (or the new Microsoft Expression Encoder).

Can I suggest you try this little trick. Photos included.

Does really fast TOD conversions of the JVC files. Look in the second half of the page as the first half is dedicated to MOD format.
