    Hi guys... got a question.. after I convert .avi/.asf file using VirtualDub...its in .dat format.. how do I go about burning it using Nero because Nero needs it to be in mpeg, avi, or asf in order for me to drag it over. Do I change the extension from .dat to .mpg??

    Virtualdub will not export a .dat file ?!?!?

    only .avi's.

    Look to the LEFT under CONVERT to encode to an mpg or under TOOLS for VcdGear to use to convert a .dat file to an Mpeg. That is the proper way to change the format, it's not recommended to just rename the extension.

    yeah thanks... i had to encode it with TMPEGENC again in order to burn it to vcd... i'll check out the TOOLS for VCDGEAR... thanks
