  1. I just bought a Diamond TV Anywhere capture card (this one: http://www.diamondmm.com/WTAP.php ) and so far it's worked good. I can capture perfect video from my TV, VCR, etc...

I plugged my old NES into the capture card and it captures just fine using both the component and coaxial inputs. I haven't had the same luck with my Sega Genesis.

The input from the Sega looks very distorted, goes black and white with lots of lines and jumps all over, etc...
here's a video of what it looks like: http://www.GeoffLedak.com/video/segarecord.wmv

The output from the Sega looks fine when I plug it into my TV. I've even tried plugging the genesis into my VCR and then outputting the VCR into my PC. VHS tapes play fine but when I switch to the Sega input it is still distorted and ugly. I even tried running my second VCR output into my TV at the same time. The picture on my TV is perfect but is still distorted on my capture card. I've tried many different combinations of composite and coaxial connections, (my sega, VCR, and capture card all have both) and still get the messed up picture. I even tried switching out the power cable on my PC with one with no grounding connector, and changing genesis power supplies.

I just don't understand what on earth could be causing this. It outputs to the TV fine, just not my card! My NES and VCR work fine.

    Any ideas???

That ood that capture card dosen't have component nor a coaxial inputs
It dose have Composite, S-Video input
As for your problem it know that some Console Box output odd type of analog signal.

  3. Would a signal booster / stabilizer like the ones used to remove macrovision protection help to clear up the signal?

and SHS, yes it does have coaxial in. The yellow connector in the picture doesn't show the coaxial connector plug that is supposed to be plugged into that connector. In order to input composite you actually use an s-video to composite converter that plugs into the s-video input that came with the card.

As for signal booster that going be a NO
As for a Stabilizer, Video Sync Stabilizer or TBC that a good question I don't if will help.
