Hi, I just bought a used 25inch (Samsung cl25m2) flat screen TV and when I connect the DVD player the frame is incomplete (it fits well only when I change the zoom in the DVD player (Phillips 727K) to 1/2. I've tried modifying both the DVD video settings (4:3LB, 4:3PS, 16:3) and also the TV settings (Zoom, etc). and still the image from the DVD player is a bit zoomed in so the frame is incomplete. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be?
    Thanks

The dvd video settings should be set to the TV screen type (4:3 or 16:9).

What exactly do you mean by the "frame is incomplete"?

Ensure you are using a commercial dvd. If the TV is 4:3, then choose a 4:3 AR dvd, or the opposite for a 16:9 TV. During playback, what exactly are you seeing? Black bars top/bottom, black bars on the sides, picture doesn't fill the screen?

In the dvd player, try progressive on and off. Also check the display type, should have a choice of NTSC/PAL/AUTO. Default is usually AUTO, however, from what information I can find, your display is European (likely PAL). Verify the display type and set the dvd output accordingly.

Also verify you are using region 1 discs in your region 1 player.

thanks ill try these and revert.
The image doesnt fill the screen. For example when the screensaver is activated the phillips logo in the bottom right corner that would normally be fully visible is partially cut, also the dvd display gets cut (i.e. when i fast forward the display symbols get cut or dont fit in the scren) as if the screen was zooming in a bit, but the zoom settings are set to normal.

Some crappy TV sets are still distorted. I've seen 4:3 mode squish images. And 16:9 can squish or stretch. The geometry is off.
