Hello, I would like to know is it's normal to convert my DivX in SVCD in 4 HOURS !!! :-( My cpu is 1.3Gz and 512mb. I first extract audio in a .wav file with virualdub, after, I convert .avi to SVCD, but it's long, too long. I let Full Screen (keep aspect ratio), and bitrate between 1800-2000.
Somebody can help me ?
thx

If time is your major consideration - can't offer much more improvement with settings being tweaked - get a dual cpu system! I have a dual amd xp1700 and can encode from dvd to vcd at about 83% of the movie time. ie 130 min movie takes about 107 min to encode. Frees up the wait time substantially.

ok, thx !
and another problem I have, how to be sure of the final file size ? ex: i've a 700mo, 95min, movie (divx), so, of cours, 2 cds are needed for it, but i should be interesting to pub the max bitrate to fit it on 2 80min cds ;-)
i tried the calculator in on of the guide, but doesn't success with it ...
