Edit: I figured my question was maybe not that clear.

    What I'm trying to do:
Create a script that will take small clips of different video and put them togeter to make a beat. The clips need to be between 0.25 second and 2 seconds. I need to use FFMPEG in a linux environement, in command line onl

    The problem:
If I put clip that are not a fraction of 0.5s it's usualy end being offsync pretty quickly.

    Hypothetical solution:
Compile the video and the sound seperately, then put them toggeter and stretch the sound to make it fit with the video.

    Question:
    1. Which format should I use to compile the videos... and for the sounds?

    2. Also, is there a way to stretch the sound to make it fit with the video?

    3. Anyone think this solution is simply stupid?
    What make you hapiii?

It sounds like an editing project that would likely be more straightforward with a proper video editor in a Windows environment. Adobe Premiere, for example.

Sounds like you are making this as difficult as possible. I know it can be done using avisynth for the trimming and ffmpeg for the encoding under windows. However I have never seen the advantage to editing with avisynth. Personally I think you are making a simple task needlessly difficult. I would be interested to hear why you want to take this approach.
