I have a small problem here....i want to completely install the software on my computer, except when it asks me to input a password, reenter password, then verify it, it wont accept the password installed, it always bounces back as if both were not matching or it was wrong.....besides the rest button on the router which obviously seems as if it doesnt want to work, can i get around this obvious problem!!!

The reset button should set the l/p information back to default (as noted in the manual and setup sheets...NOT blank).

In the past I have typed admin for the userID not the password and been mystified by the fact it didn't work.
Any chance that you have done what I did? -

RTFM to verify the default login name and password, which I'm pretty sure is what Ollie stated, blank username and admin for the password. After the login there is a menu selection to change passwords.
First you must supply the currently valid login and password, this gives you access to make a new one. You are not running this software on the PC, you are using a program on the router itself. There is in fact little point to installing anything for the router on the PC itself. -
What if i cant remember the old password......then what????????

Hold down the reset button with a ball point pen for 20 seconds
That will reset the router back to factory defaults -

If you don't have it, you can get it online: http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_CASupport_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&ci...#versiondetailGoogle is your Friend
