I use the MMC tool to set the right bitrate for the movie... but there's no setting in this tool for the Audio and in the TV application you just set the Audio to 44,1 mhz and 16 bits stereo... what the hell happened to the 224 kbps Audio that is requred for VCD?
    Thanx/

  2. MMC always capture stereo audio at 224kbps MPEG1 layer 2, which is compliant for both (X)VCD and (X)SVCD

Strange... caus emy Nero 5.5 don't wanan have anythign to do with my captures from the TV tool tweaked with MMC to the right standard. It does'nt really complain, just says it's wrong.

I have no idea what to do!
    Thanx/

  4. I'm a newbie at this too (but hopefully getting there).

As far as I can see, there are two things go can do to make Nero happier with your MMC MPEG-1 files...

    1) Deselect VCD compliance in Nero - the VCDs made this way work fine in my DVD player, and lets you use higher bitrates in the first place (looks MUCH better )

    2) (I've not tried this one yet!) You could demultiplex then remultiplex with TMPGEnc to remove the padding stream that MMC puts into the MPEG files it creates. I think this may be why Nero rejects it. Does anyone know for sure?

    Hope this helps...

    What's the padding stream?

  6. To be honest, I have no idea what the padding stream is supposed to do - its just there when I demultiplex my MMC captures with TMPGEnc. It seems to go away when you remultiplex, but then I'm just a button clicker and have very little grasp of the theory behind what I'm doing. Just looking for that magic combinations of button clicks that will do the job

Hopefully someone in the know might enlighten us...

  7. Mmm.. just tried what I suggested and it didn't work - sorry mate

Nero liked tonight's straight MMC encode (done using Stinky's recipe). When I demuxed and remuxed the file using TMPGEnc, Nero didn't like it. Now I'm confused...

Still, I believe that's what happens to anyone who starts using an All in Wonder card - keep on trying!!!

    Good luck!
