How To Fade Out A Clip?

Can anyone instruct me on how to fade in/out a clip in Adobe Premiere 6.0?

well, i had the same problem couldnt figure it out even with the book, so to make it easer on my self I recorded a 6 second clip of darkspace and i use that for fade in/out cutted to 2-3 second clip and I add the transition, than you can control how long you want the fade out or fade in, i hope i helped.
