Is there an equivalent to „Gspot“ for ASF files? Looking for facility to show compression, codec and other info, please. Any help here much appreciated

Thanks, neat facility MediaInfo but my problem is following.... with an ASF file (from camcorder) Gspot shows „Codec M4S2“...“Compliant MPEG-4 v2 Simple Profile“....but Status column says „Codec Status Undetermined“. I have “FFDshow” filter appliance installed (WinXP). The file plays o.k., but should I nevertheless install M4S2? I thought it should install with Media Player v. 9 and I cant find it on MS site.

As far as I know, GSpot has that quirk with ASF/WMV files, regardless of whether or not the codecs/filters/etc. are installed on the system - it shows "Codec Status Undetermined" for both the video stream and audio stream. I'm not sure it entirely supports ASF/WMV. You're not experiencing any problems playing or using the videos otherwise, are you? If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
