Would anyone know a brand of VCR / DVD combo unit that doesn't require the use of composite video cables, but sends both, the VCR and DVD signal through the RF/coax outputs? *The video quality is irrelevant. *Thanks!

Probably nobody makes such a combo unit. However, Radio Shack and I'm sure other companies sell RF modulator boxes that typically take audio and either S-video or composite video inputs and output to RF. This is probably what you are going to have to get to do this.

From the way your question is phrased, I'd say that pretty much ANY VCR/DVD combo can do that. I have a GoVideo & a Toshiba, both VCR/DVD combo units, & both can output both VCR & DVD via the RF connector.

That's interesting. I was under the impression that only the VCR video, but not the DVD video was switched through the RF connector of most combo units. Could you post the model number of your Toshiba? If it's not too old, perhaps it is still available. Thanks!Originally Posted by Stiiv

Most combo units share the inputs/outputs, so any model that you can find which has a coaxial output (the few I checked don't support it any longer), should work for you. A quick way to check is the look at the manuals online.

What Krispy said. If you see the coax connector on the back of the unit, odds are that both signals are available from that output.
