  1. I'm about to upgrade to a Pentium 4, and I heard a rumour that a P4 can't rip a DVD into a DivX

    Does anyone have a suggestion??
    Or even better, does anyone own a P4 and have NO problems ripping .. I'd appreciate any info

    Thanks =]

  3. Although to be technical, NOBODY rips into DIVX. you rip into VOBs then convert to DIVX
    Not that I use DIVX, but you get the idea

    And not that I don't trust ya
    But I can sure you a couple more testimonials before I dish out the cash, so if anyone else is a P4 user and rips'o'plenty, please let me know .. thanks

  5. The P4 can definitely rip DVDs and convert to DivX. All you need is a DVD-ROM drive. The CPU is irrelevant.

    If you want confirmation, the fact that Tom's Hardware uses FlaskMPEG --> DivX as measure of the P4's performance should reassure you that the P4 has no problems in this area.
