I just tried to capture using Avs4You capture wizard and, the audio ended up off set (ahead). Is there a way to fix this after the capture or is this a setting in the capture wizard? It captured a live feed just fine, so I think theres something to the media side of this.

The camera is a Cannon Zr850 ntsc
36mins of dv, on sony media
    16:9 format

Most problems with sync issues during capture are caused by not capturing to a seperate HD. Your software on one HD, and one HD for capture and file storage.. Make sure that your HD is defragged, and that you minimize activity while capturing.

I re-installed the program on a different HDD, and it still happened. This time I lost sound @ 40mins into the capture. @30mins the sound was audible but way ahead of where it was supposed to be at.

With a different program, Enosoft Dv Processor I was able to capture the dv with 10-20min intervals. But as a whole I had the same issue.

  5. Hi Jensen,

Vista processes audio in a different way than XP and it can lead to playback problems. Often this shows up as slow playback and erratic audio.

Our software has a way around this that may help you together will some other suggestions:

    1. Use this version of the software: http://www.enosoft.net/dl.php?filename=EnoDVProcessorSetupUnlicensed103PreviewA.msi (it fixes a few bugs)
    2. Install the software onto your main drive and capture to the external drive
    3. Capture to Type-1 DV AVI (Type-2 creates a second, separate copy of the audio that can lead to problems.)
    4. Configure our software to use a different set of audio drivers. Open the main Config... options and select the output audio as below. Choose an option that isn't "Default" anything or "DirectSound" anything. When you have captured a video, open it in our software and play it to a video window renderer (in the output list of options). If it plays OK then the file is OK. However, it may still play incorrectly in other software that isn't Vista-savvy.

Thanks I will try this today, is there a online manual for enosoft dv processor?
    Love the software!

    Regards

    Jensen

Hhmm doesnt seem to being installing properly, wont open and looks like its just data, no .exe.
Maybe my download is bad.. Ill keep trying

Ok I think I figured it out, the windows installer for some reason made a bad shortcut to enosoft appl. in the start menu under all programs. I went to the file location in main drive, under program files and found it working just fine there. wierd.....opens now.

    Thanks, Jensen.

The shortcut thing is very odd - never come across that before. I'll check our installer creation project to make sure the .exe shortcut hasn't accidentally been removed.

For help, press F1 or go to the start menu. I really need to fix that by putting a Help button on the main window (had many questions about that!)

    John:

Another thing that I just realized while capturing new footage, with the new install I was unable to insert logo on capture. At first I thought well maybe I cant do it on capture, I think I'm supposed to be able to. But I uninstalled the new and re-installed the old one and I could insert logo from avi- avi. Something isn't right and I don't think its the software.
Also I tried to capture to the external and noticed a delay or stutter as I read it in the manual (thanks by the way) on the output screen. Playback showed this stutter as well. Only thing with that is, it was live to disk capture of my son. So maybe thats all it was. I have been able to capture successfully on the same disk as the software, probably because I'm no longer trying to get larger sections. I find it easier editing when I do it more at the capture than the edit software. Plus my scenes will be in one file as opposed to 1/2 here and 1/2 here. Anyways let me know what you think I should do or try. Thank you

    Best Regards

    Jensen
