heres what the note says when i try to upload my mpeg into windows movie maker

The file C:\Documents and Settings\Paul\My Documents\My Videos\Ease Springs Bar Fly mpeg.mpg cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

    any suggestions please

    thanks

Windows OS doesn't come with a MPEG-2 codec, so you would need to add one. This is apparently because of licensing. It does have a MPEG-1 codec, used for VCDs most often.

ffdshow is one way to install it or you can add just a MPEG-2 codec or install a player like PowerDVD or similar that includes the codec. Some versions of Vista do have the MPEG-2 codec included.

booyaka, I know you are new here, but you can edit your existing posts and add new comments without starting a new post for each thought. We try not to clutter our forum up with more posts than needed to convey the ideas.

And if you only need the MPEG-2 codec for WMP, try Stinkys MPEG2 Codec. It works fine with WMP. If it doesn't work, then you have other problems.

But check your file first with Gspot 2.70 and see what codec it requires.
