I have a wedding video saved and somehow I think I saved it wrong. The file is in AVI format and I used SUPER to convert it to go on a DVD for my brother but it will not play in the dvd player. Am I doing something wrong here? As you can see I am clueless to most of this.

Could be any number of things that are wrong. It could be a bad conversion. It could be improperly authored and the disc doesn't meet dvd spec. Could be a bad disc or the disc was burned incorrectly. Or most likely, you used a disc type or brand that isn't supported by his DVD player.

For best compatiblity with DVD players, always use a quality media such as Verbatim or TY.

Has the dvd been tested in another DVD player? Was the dvd tested on the PC?

The disk is high quality and I have made copies of other videos on them and they work fine. I use SUPER to convert the files to go on DVD but I keep getting a error message on this system witch is Vista. I had no trouble on my old XP os.

How do you know they are "high quality"? Do the other discs work fine on his dvd player?

If super is only having issues with this one file, then I would suspect the file is damaged/currupt (or there is something about it that Super can't handle).

You could always try another tool such as ConvertX2DVD.

Here is some info on disc quality: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

And regardless of the disc "quality", not all DVD players will play all discs. So even if a DVD player supports DVD-R (for example), it won't ALL brands/types of DVD-R discs. Some players are more picky than others.
