    Hi Everyone,

I was given a series of dvd's with adhesive labels on them. Each dvd contains a program that will be shown on local public access cable tv once I solve the following problem. When I submitted the first one the executive director said their conversion/transcoding machine can't handle dvd's with labels. He wants me to give him the programs on new dvds without the label. I've never copied/cloned or replicated a dvd before bit for bit.

    Here's where I need advice.

I need to preserve original quality and duplicate each dvd exactly. In regards to potentially involving copyright protection I doubt it has much if any although I will check with the source.

What is the best way or application that will achieve the above that's fairly easy, reliable & gets the job done right the 1st time? Is there a no-brainer solution? All I need to do is copy.. that's it!! What do you successfully use?

Looking forward to your suggestions and reccomendations.

    Thanks in advance.

First make a folder with a name you will correlate with the proper DVD an add ISO to the name like: WHATEVERDVD_ISO.

    1. Then use DVD Decryptor in MODE --> ISO --> READ, to make an ISO/MDS file. (click on the little folder icon to put it in the folder you made.)

    2. When that's done, open imgburn 2 and switch to write mode. Then open the mds file made from step 1 and create the DVD.

This is what I would do. Other programs like Nero should do it to if there's no copy protection.

I just remembered some folks say imgburn2 can copy an unprotected DVD all by itself, but I've never done it since my old way works for me. Also, the programming quality of these softwares (by the same guy) is top-notch.

Thanks so much for the step by step mini guide.

I'll try it very soon and respond.

To the forum, if there are other options I'm also glad to hear about those to.

You can also remove the labels. I done this in the past using WD40. Just soak the label with WD40, let it sit about an hour, and the label should peel right off. Then just clean the disc with alcohol and/or warm soap and water.
