Using CloneDvd2 to copy dvd.
1. when inserting original disk it doesn't autostart
2. CloneDVD give me the following info: Video Format: MEPG2 PAL 4:3 720x576, Play time: 21:21
and so forth.
When in process of copying from 1 drive to another I get the following msg:
Target size sufficient, transcoder disabled
Then a pop-up appears with the following msg:
Trying to repair defective DVD structure....Please wait
goes to 100%
Then it repeats the msg: Target size sufficient.......
Then it starts to copy
Once done reading the original disk, In the msg window I see the following....
Ignored 2688 invalid input blocks
Processing stopped: finished
Then its start the writing process, at he end it says writing process succesfull
But the only way I can play these video is by exploring the dvd and selecting the files I way to view/watch
Also tried the following programs DVDfab, Ashampoo,
Can anyone help me out....or suggest something I may try
Thanks

From what you posted, either the DVD is defective (scratched possibly or made defectively) or it is using one of those "bad sector" copy protection methods like ARCCOS and CloneDVD can't handle it. I know nothing about CloneDVD. Try using DVDFab (free version) to simply rip it and see if that works. Worry about converting it after you get it ripped.
ARCCOS and similar methods are rare outside the USA and Canada but they are used. You might want to consider telling us what this DVD is. If it's not a Hollywood movie then there is some chance that it's not going to be very popular and DVDFab's authors may need to get a copy to know how to rip it. Those bad sector copy protection methods change all the time so I think there is some chance that if this something not likely to sell in large quantities that it's simply using a protection method that DVDFab hasn't seen before.
Finally, please understand that even if you get this ripped and copied that the source is PAL and even if you make a region free copy that you will need a DVD player and TV capable of doing something sensible with PAL DVDs to watch it outside of a PC. -
The dvd being copied is from the following company...International TEFL Teacher Training,
http://www.teflonline.net/
This seems to be from Europe region....
1. Tried DVDFAB..no good
2. Will be watched on computer

What kind of files and folders do you see on the dvd?
Have you just tried copy the VIDEO_TS folder(if it exists) using windows explorer? -
CloneDVD2 by itself cannot rip protected or oddly-defective DVDs: you also need the AnyDVD decryption software. Clone DVD2 is updated maybe once a year, AnyDVD is updated twice a month as new protection schemes and possible disc defects are added to its database. You should be able to download a free trial version of the current AnyDVD-HD 7.0.1.0 which was released yesterday on the SlySoft website: if you do not already have AnyDVD, get the 30-day trial version and see if it solves your problem. Its also a bad idea to try and copy directly from one disc to another: CloneDVD2 offers this option but its not a good workflow. To avoid additional chance of errors and hangups, always set CloneDVD2 (or DVDfab) to rip to your HDD first, and then burn the dupe disc from HDD.
I suspect another issue may be that this is a multi-media disc: a 21 minute run time is rather brief. Its likely this disc includes some non-DVD-compliant interactive content, such discs often do not reliably copy using traditional DVD-Video tools like CloneDVD2 or DVDfab. Note also the language company supplying the DVD looks to be of Asian origin: such firms tend to put various anti-copy or defective code in their media to make sure users will pay for their services or extra discs. You may find this particular DVD very resistant to duplication.
One more suggestion would be to skip the video DVD apps altogether and try the free IMGburn disc backup tool. IMGburn is the most accurate 1:1 disc ripper available, and will usually duplicate any disc unless it is protected. After installation, go to the EZ Mode menu and choose "create image" which will tell IMGburn to copy the entire disc to your HDD as an image file. The file is usually saved at the top level of your C drive, locate the image and check the size. If it is below 4.4 GB you can copy it to a single layer blank, if larger you will need a dual layer blank. Insert the correct blank disc and use the EZ Mode menu to select "Burn Image." Choose the image you just created, and IMGburn should copy the disc bit-for-bit with all oddities intact. After verifying the copied disc works OK, you can delete the image file from your HDD.Last edited by orsetto; 6th Mar 2012 at 11:44.
