Problems converting from MP4

Hey guys,

I've downloaded some MP4 videos, roughly 1 gb-1.5 gb per file. I want to convert these to MP4 for my psp through my psp video 9 software. the problem is that psp video 9 doesn't support the conversion of MP4 to another format, but can convert from another format to MP4. So i thought i should convert the MP4 to AVI or something so psp video 9 can convert it from there.

So i have WIN avi converter, and that doesn't convert MP4 either. There are plenty of (other formats) to MP4 converters, but so little MP4 to (other format) converters.

I've found one called ImTOO mp4 converter which supports it, but whenever i open an MP4 the software crashes.

I've downloaded several of the recommended codecs but after so much searching on the internet, i still can't find a way to convert them. Can someone please help me?
