A computer I use daily just suddenly won't power up the monitor. Before this happened, the monitor flickered constantly at startup, then when I logged in (windows xp) it just stopped, and I went on with my business. What happens is when I turn on my computer, the tower light flickers the yellow/amber color, then the light just turns off. The computer is still "on", but the monitor says input not available , go to power save. The mouse I have usually lights up, but now it just flickers once then doesn't power on also. This just happened after I was doing using it, turned it off, then suddenly the next time I tried to turn it on it does this. If there is any other info you need please ask. Thanks.

Check the connections to the PC and make sure they are tight..Also check the Video Card to make sure it's not loose inside the PC... Make sure you unplug the PC and Monitor to be safe....If all else fails try the monitor on another PC...It might just be the Monitor has gone bad....

Same thing happened a couple of years ago to my wife's computer. I thought it was the monitor too, but to be sure tried it on another computer and it worked fine. It turned out to be that the video card had gone bad.

Could also be the power supply, very common. You get lights & stuff but no display.
