no matter how hard I`ve tried I stupidly updated to the new 2.5 version and cannot for the life of me get it to work, and heres the cruncher, I have had no problems at all with the 2.1 version, so if anyone still has the .exe file hanging around can you please send me a copy, loads to do and no decent programme to do it with., and before anyone asks I have tried every possible fix to this problem off this forum, vista is more than likely the culprit.
many thanks
nipperlocko.

Smells suspiciously like the issues that I was having with DVD-RB Pro on Vista. You're not getting the mscomct1.ocx (or whatever it's called) error when you try to start SVCD2DVD are you????
I found the solution to the problem for me.
1. Run the install as Administrator - and I really mean Administrator.
Google Vista+Hidden+Administrator account and you will for certain
see what I mean.
I did what I needed to do to upgrade myself to Administrator (on my own dang machine!!!), turned off the UAC nagging crap; and Vista is starting to act like a new XP.
The only other problems that I've ran into are incompatibility issues with specific software - so I guess that I'll read up a little better on any future software purchases.
I can say that I'm not getting lockups, and the boot speed (Sempron 3400, 2GB RAM) is as good as it was with XP on the same machine.;/ l ,[____], Its a Jeep thing,

the main problem I`m getting is it shuts down when you when you click it to make a dvd, had no problems at all with the 2.1 version and after doing a full install no longer have the 2.1
version availlable to me thanks for your help anyway. -
That version is hard to find - like you, I could only locate 2.5. Even mrbass didn't have 2.1 (he did have 1.2). All the other links to 2.1 that I checked were dead. Good Luck

With Vista, when all else fails, try installing the 2.5 version in XP SP2 compatibility mode. Right click on the installer, go to 'Properties' at the bottom of the menu and you will see the 'Compatibility' menu. Just check the first box. If that doesn't work, you may have a different problem.
I've used that with a HDTV card that didn't have Vista drivers and it works great. -
Email me if you want an older version.... However, as Jikchung said, we could try to get yout issue resolved as most other people have no issue with the new version/Vista.
