    Hey.
I was wondering if anyone has any good tips for me.
Basically, i want to know how to improve the quality of my dvds when i burn them..
I find a lot of the time that the video and sounds dont sync once burned, but do on the pc,
that there can be a lot of freezes.

At the minute i am using Bulkpaq DVD+R 16x and most dvds i burn are about 750mb,
i burn as slowly as i can, usualy 4x or sometimes i can 2x.
i use nero to burn as a video file.

is there a better disc i can use? or is thereanything i can do with the pc to get better burning results?
Ive just started to turn off screensaver to see if makes a difference but havnt checked yet, and i dont use the pc when burning.

If you can help please shout...
    Many thanks.
    Ben

What format are you burning? Sounds like Nero is converting to DVD format before burning, and that's where you are losing the sync perhaps?

Freezes could be because of crappy dvd media, try instead verbatim media, www.nomorecoasters.com www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia. And sync problems are probably because of the converter so try different converters like convertxtodvd, dvd flick.

Most are AVI Format, if thats what you mean?
So asking to burn an AVI or Mpeg strait to disc with nero not clever idea?
what can i do before hand to help that?
cos it is mainly the sound sync that pisses me off the most.
    cheers.

Well, I wouldn't use Nero to convert my video files to DVD format. Try what Baldrick said, ConvertXtoDVD - this costs a small price, but is very good at what it does. Or try one of the quality freebies like DVDFlick, WinFF, FAVC, DVDforger, Avidemux etc... in fact there are quite a few good free converters now heh! Sniff around!

And yeah, use good-quality blank DVD-R's! Verbatims & Taiyo Yudens are always highly recommended around here, it seems.

Even better: Get a player that plays AVI files. No conversion, no problems. Costs about the same as commercial AVItoDVD converter offerings.
