i been joining xvid's into one file with virtual dub for awhile now and had no prob as long as its only two parts but i tried dong more then 2 parts i get:
As far as i can tell when i use gspot they have the same stuff as far as audio, video, framerate, and res size.. what i'm trying to do is make a episode dvd disc with 4 episodes on it..
i read on here not to join at xvid stage but at author stage.. i have tda 1.6 i tried that before but i had issues. A audio error pop up saying each mpg file had different audio or something... i prob could author them one at a time then import them back in tda 1.6 as dvd video source but wouldn't it be too large to fit on a dvd-5 dics? as far as shrinking down so it will fit on the dvd-5, losing video quality is a factor. Any suggestions or is this my only resort?

You can try patching the non standard fps file with AVImaster.
http://www.thozie.de/AVIMaster.zip
Avimaster -fv29.97 InputFile.AVI OutputFile.avi -
Try using AVIFrate to change them both to the same frame rate. Make sure Scale, Rate, and FPS are all the same.
