    Hi all:
I have a divx movie that needs to be converted so i can create a normal DVD that can be played on any stand alone DVD player so i can make a dvd my parents can play it on an older dvd player.

Should be easy but i can't seem to find anything doing a search on this forum.

    Thanks

easiest Mac wise, drag the file into Toast Titanium's
Video Tab, with the option for DVD selected.
    Insert disc, click burn.

In all fairness to the OP, most of those guides are for Windows, not Mac OS. And there is no "sort by platform" option (at least, I've never found it), so it's not that simple. It would also be nice to have a free tools section/sort option.

I don't use Toast, so I'm unsure about its padding capabilities. Some divx videos will need to be padded so that they keep their proper aspect ratio on the DVD. I'm not sure if Toast can do this.

I use ffmpeg (command line) for anything like this. You might also check out ffmpegX. Once it outputs an mpeg2 file, I believe you can use that in Toast without any re-encoding.
