    hi, What is DTS used for? I been doing all my movies from converting them in AC3 sound to DVD format. The mod on this forum told me MP3 won't work on a standalone DVD player. What is a better sound AC3, MP3 or DTS? If someone's says DTS then how do i convert from AC3 or MP3 to DTS?

    Stay with AC3. It is the most compatible format for DVD players. DTS is good, Very good, but many DVD players can't play it, and I don't think there are any free DTS encoders. AC3 at high bitrates with give you extremely high quality sound. Stick with 384Kbps and you can't go wrong.

    Okay thank you for your reply. Yeah i think my first movie with AC3 and my housemate was suprised how well it came out as a bootleg, normally bootlegs sound and video is out of wack. I am doing another movie the same way.

    There is no such plugin to encode AC3 with TMPGEnc.
    Rest assured that you are using the best method doing video only and muxing later.

    Notwithstanding, there is an AC3 player/encoder made by the
    creator of TMPGEnc. IIRC, TMPGEnc plus cannot use that plugin, but
    DVD Lab Pro 2 can(quite strange indeed). Anyway, it is much easier to produce
    AC3s with Aften, IMHO. And yes, MP2 can be used for DVDForum-compliant audio
    as well.

    {EDIT}

    TMPGEnc AC3 plugin was designed to be used by TMPGEnc DVD Author...
    Yes, I simply had forgotten that "detail"... Apologies ^.^;;
