Graphic Converter won't help you...unless you need jpgs?
the easiest way would be to get the .srt files into
Quicktime Text using
TitleLab, and then copying /pasting the text into the avi in QT Pro.
Then save the files as DV stream files, and then import into
iDVD. Author and burn.
There are probably other ways using D-Vision or even "hijacking"
the files using iSquint and VLC, heck I would even normally
myself just use DVDSP, and Subtitler to get the .srt files into
DVDSP .stl files, and just drag everything into that, author, and burn.
others will probably chime in /refine my posting...so stay tuned.

Hmm well I tried using ffmpegx to convert my avi and srt file into a video_ts file but all I ended up with was a mpeg file called "Ping.Pong.2002.DVDRip.DivX-AG.cd1.avi.ff.mpg" that wont open and an audio file called "Ping.Pong.2002.DVDRip.DivX-AG.cd1.avi.ff.mp2". My target format was DVD mpeg2enc. Could anyone whose familiar with ffmpegX explain how to succesfully convert an avi and srt to a video_ts file that I can put straight on to a dvd?
Also right now I'm attempting to put 5 22 minute .mov files onto a dvd via idvd. Its been on "Stage 3: Asset Encoding…" for 30 minutes now and I can't tell if its stuck or what. I unchecked the "best performance "box so theres no 60 min cap, and dvd can hold up to 120 minutes. Space shouldnt be a problem. Each video is around 600mb and the dvd can hold 4.7 gigs. Can anyone tell me whats going on?
As far as copying the srt file to the avi file, could you explain how to do that? I dled that titlelab program, but it wont let me copy from it, so I'm just using textedit. I dont know how to copy it into the avi file however.

1. This would be best answered in the ffmpegx forum.
I'll ask a mod to move the question over so you can get more help.
2. The files are encoding via iDVD, and depending upon the codecs
used in the .mov file, it may take your mac a while.
You specs say you got a dual g4, but which one?
600mb files that have to be encoded into .m2v and .ac3 audio
and then the all those files then muxed and authored....
will take a bit.
3. You don't copy from TitleLab. You open the your existing .srt file in it, and then you SAVE AS Quicktime text.
You can then open the .txt file it generates in say Text Edit to
check the spelling and such. But otherwise that's what you do with TitleLab.
Once you got the .txt file from TitleLab on your desktop, then
go here, read page 35-37.
it will then explain how to get the file into the Quicktime file as
an overlay.
I also found out this thread which talks about
doing it in ffmpegx. You may want to follow it instead."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."
