No it does not, it places a softsub inside the .mkv container

If you want to permanently burn it in you have to re-encode, but you will lose some video quality (unless you use lossless mode but the filesize will be HUGE).

You can use any number of encoder GUI's to hardsub eg. xvid4psp, ripbot264, MeGUI, a few others...

The size dosnt matter on the file, I just split the file via mkv2vob and the save them on a usb memory and then insert it in ps3 So wich setting should I use to not loose any quality?

  6. PS3 doesn't support lossless x264, you can only use CoreAVC on a PC at this point to decode. Anyways, Lossless would be around 10-20x bigger. So that's alot of usb keys!

Just use "almost lossless" (e.g. CRF16-18, smaller number is bigger filesize/higher bitrate). If you are crazy use even lower like CRF12-14 but I doubt you could visually tell the difference even on a frame-by frame analysis

    Cheers

You seems to know alot Maybe you can say whats best to use to:

    1. I have a Ps3 that I want to play vob/mt2s files with permanent srt files on
    2. I have tried alot of recommended settings on mkv2vob to put srt files into the converted files, but it dosnt work
    3. I now need a program that put srt files permanent into the mkv file and after that I just convert it to m2ts/vob file via mkv2vob. I also split the file to 4gb(because ps3 only read fat32 and only can take files that is less then 4gb) each via mkv2vob and then put it on an usb memory. Then I use the memory in ps3

So I need a program that dosnt loose any more quality then mkv2vob does when it converts with srt files. Because after I have done that I can convert it via mkv2vob and split the files

  8. I don't think you understand. You will lose a bit of quality. The limitation is the PS3. It doesn't support all the high quality features. You are limited to a profile of AVC4.1, max 3 reference frames, no b-pyramids. You need to specify a max VBV buffer size of 24000kbps. If you have bitrate peaks that are too high, it won't play or you get studdering on playback.

Most programs have presets that ensure compatibility for ps3

If you're that concerned about quality, start with the original blu-ray .m2ts, because chances are your input .mkv has been transcoded already and lost some quality.

Ok, I have install XvidD4PSP, but how long time should it take for that program to convert the file? It stands 3 day 11 hour 16min... Wich is the best setting to make it as fast as possible without loosing to much quality?

    Get a faster CPU...

Or try change to 1-pass or Constant quality under the Video Encoding and click on the E-icon.
