how do i join the 2 XviD avi together with the 2 subtitiles to be a 1 Xvid movie?

i used winavi because it has an option there "make this one file" and also it can filter the subtitle using DirectVobsub.

but now i cant do that,, winavi is always crashing..i dont know why.

any other solution? on how to join 2 avi together with 2 subtitle to be as one...

    try and try

  3. You have to know the exact length of the CD1 AVI so you can set the delay or offset for the CD2 subs properly when it's joined to the CD1 subs. Open the CD1 AVI in VDub(Mod) and go File->File Information to find its length.

Nah, just load the first avi as the matching segment for the first sub when joining in Subtitle Workshop. Make sure that the adjust length option is checked and Subtitle Workshop will do the rest.

Oh, thanks. Having never used Subtitle Workshop, I've joined subs in other ways, which required knowing the length of the CD1 AVI.

The option is actually "recalculate time values", but given the lack of other options in the dialogue it should have been obvious what I meant. Basically it just gets the length of the avi segment, then adds that value to the times of the second sub.

yah.. when i joined the 2 subtitle and load it for preview.. at the half of the movie the subtitle were delayed. so i have to change the time [timing] using the shift+ctrl+H by increasing

  10. i see, what software are you using?

Depends on the sub format. If IDX/SUB, then the Subtitle Joiner that comes with VobSub. If some text format, then I convert to SSA if need be and use SubStation Alpha to join.

SubtitleCreator can also join 2 SRT files automatically, as it also allows the opening of the CD1 AVI to find out the delay/offset.

hey thanks.. i used the VobSub subtitle joiner and it worked..

but when i used the .srt ,VobSub cannot join the subtitles. should i need to convert first the .srt to .sub? so that i could use the VobsUb to join the subtitle.

what application do u prefer to convert .srt to sub? to be able to join them using VoBsub?

    sub contains the images,
    idx contains the timing info.

You could use txt2vobsub if you want to go from srt to sub/idx.
    If that's what you want.

Best to keep it in srt.
    I never use anything else.
    compatibility.
I suppose there are one or two reasons to go to sub/idx format...

Join srts with subtitle workshop. As suggested.
I still use subtitle Tool. It's old, but I like it.

If anything converting should probably be done the other way.
    sub/idx to srt.
You can do this with subrib.

well according to subtitle workshop when i joined the 2 subtitle it was got out of sync fromt the video. compared to VobSub when i joined the 2 subtitle i can put the time or the "beginning of Input 2" that whats make it more accurate for the subtitle to sync to the video.

well to tell you my plan is. i joined 2 avi video [with VirtualDoB] and joined 2 subtitle's once i got the subtitle sync with the avi video that i joined. i will permanently add the subtitle to the avi video by using the VirtualDob.

would that be good? or do i have a long process? hehe..

I have similar problems but have worked things out. First of all, join avi1 and avi2 using VirtualDub. Don't delete the avi1 and avi2! So now you should have the joined avi, seperate avi1 and seperate avi2.

Now, open up subtitle work shop and go to join subtitles. Add in both subtitles and just join them. Now, play them against the joined avi, and see if they're in sync, especially against the 2nd half of the movie.

If they aren't, then go back to join subtitle's, add both subtitles, then click on set fragment for the first subtitle then select both avi1 and avi2 then click open then join them. Check again if in sync. One out of these two methods should do it. Then just burn the joined subtitles and joined avi using convertxtodvd.

I'm currently trying to join 2 idx/sub files using vobsub joiner, never done that before but will see how it goes.

You can use convertXtoDvd to do this. Just put the vid files and subtitle files in one folder. Click on the green plus sign and add the vid clips one by one in proper order.most the time it will add the subtilte streams auto. Just put the english or whatever language you want. The vid file and subtitle file should have the same names. Oh yeah winavi sucks. I tried it for a while and it did nothing but crash. You won't have that problem with ConvertXtoDVD. It's the best program for converting to dvd.

I just joined 2 idx/sub files using vobsub joiner but the second idx/sub i joined is out of sync/delayed even though i used vobsub cutter to get the timing. Anybody had this before?

I have had problems with winavi too. I use convertxdvd and it doesn't let me down in anyway. The thing is, if i add 2 avis, and 2 subtitles to go with them, on the menu there are 2 title's, which i don't want. So i have already joined the 2 avis together, just the matter of joining the to subtitles together now and keep them in sync but vobsub joiner doesn't seem to be doing it right.
