    WE have the following mpegs:

    mpeg 1: audio and visual codecs the first released.
    mpeg 2: The second release works slightly different to mpeg 1 for higher res.
    mpeg 3: The audio part is one of the best codecs in the world. But where is video?
    mpeg 4: DivX, advanced mpeg codec however uses avi strangly..

    Now can someone please answer me two questions:

    IS THERE MPEG3 VIDEO??

    and why is divx avi insted of mpeg?

    Do not confuse MPEG-3 with MPEG-1 Layer-3 (so-called MP3)
