  1. Hi guys,

I used DVD shrink to copy a DVD and I had it pull all the audio off of the disc including the 5.1. But the .AC3 files appears to have narration over it. I assume this is an option when you play the DVD that you can play or not play. I know because when I watched the movie there was no narration, just subtitles.

Anyway, I want to get rid of the narration completely and keep the underlying effects, music, etc. I thought that by pulling all the audio somewhere down the line I would be able to either have an option or use an application to extract the audio that I wanted.

I guess what I want to know is, if this is even possible and if there is such a program out there that will allow me to do so.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You simply chose the wrong audio stream to keep. You need to re-rip the disc.

  3. I checked off all the available English channels. Before I ripped it with just the 2 ch. english ones. I disabled all the french and german channels......

    So I don't know.

Is there are good program that you know of that does a good job of showing you what channels are what and ripping them from DVD easily. Maybe rip just the audio and not the video?

    Thanks man.

    Yep...DVDShrink.
Right click in the preview window and you can switch the audio streams(that you are listening to) and find the correct one to keep.

  5. I know this isn't the DVD shrink support forum, but I read on DOOM9 about what you are talking about and I followed the steps. The only problem is that I don't get a preview in the preview window. It's black and the play button is grayed out even after I analyze the disc.....If I cannot preview then I cannot select the stream to use/not use.

    Any ideas ?

Normally preview IS enabled by default. I was just hoping it wasn't something more serious that I couldn't help with...
