I don't use DVDx, but if you want to load a .avs into TMPG it is usefull to disable the "directshow multimedia file reader" box under options > enviromental settings > VFAPI plugin.
If this does not help, please post the entire error message. Also play the .avs with Windows media player and see whether it gives you an error message as well.

Well, as mentioned I do not work with DVDx. Since many people seem to have problems with the video server plugin setup I decided to have some tests myself. I am still downloading it. Meanwhile have a look at this guide:

.avs files are frameservers for "Avisynth", get it at http://www.videotools.net
The .avs files are scripts that Avisynth uses...

  10. Look Avsynth s not very compatible ..so i suggest you use the AviWrapper codec that Video Server v0.93 includes and it make and avi file which can be used on most encoders...i have made a guide for it and i have sent it to Baldrick...sorry i dont know when is going to put it up...but yo can ask by PMing him

  11. doesnt that cause a huge avi to be put on my computer. with avs you get around that right?

  12. wrong the Avi file is a fake av file the that does that same job as avc files but more compatible and the files size in only like 3mbs and if that too large for you..too bad
