  1. If I take some videos in either avi or mpg format ant burn them to a dvd with NeroVision Express 3.1 the sound comes out really low on playback from my laptop. Also every dvd the last chapter will not play. It just freeze and then after a while goes back to the menu I made. Anyone have any ideas?

    I suspect two separate issues.

The low volume will be from the conversion to AC3 and the normalisation that happens with it. If NV doesn't allow you to adjust the volume when encoding, but is the tool you wish to use, then you have two choices - push it up before hand, or play it back with the volume. Your third choice is to ditch NV for ConvertXtoDVD, which does allow you to adjust volume when encoding, or to do it yourself.

The playback issues at the end of the disc are usually associated with poor media. Media is at it's weakest at the outer edges due to the way it is manufactured, so if the quality of the disc is low, that is where it usually shows up. Either buy better discs, or compress your video more so you don't go right to the edge.

I do not know if NVU allows one to adjust the volume. I looked thru the .pdf on it from thier site searching for "audio" and "sound" I found nothing. I will do a search for "volume" and then just look around the program.

what did you mean by "- push it up before hand, or play it back with volume" I can turn the volume slider all the say up on my computer and still can barely hear the audio on the dvd. It was fine before I burned the disk. This happens on almost every DVD I burn.

Does ConvertXtoDVD allow one to construct menus and chapters. One of the reasons I went with NVE was the ease with which one could make menus,backgrounds,sub-menus and other things. Though I really want to find out how I can make a menu item that goes to a sub menus that of items that jump to a specific point in the video as well as to the chapters that I make.
