  1. Done numerous dvdrips in the past no problems, but now 9 times out of 10 when I run TEMPEnc it gets so far through the Encode and then either automatically reboots the PC or hangs at that point. I have put some codecs in for dvix - vcd encoding, but can't think of anything else that's changed. Could these be the problem. Should I get the latest version and try that.
Please help, need to get these VOBs of the HD to make room for some more.

Are you running in batch encode ? Is it checked to auto-shutdown when complete ? If so, I'd bet your drive or partitions are full, or at least the Temp space needed to work is filling causing a write error, causing the pc to autoshutdown.....

  3. Sometimes in batch encode some times not. Enough space on the HD for the final mpeg(s). But not sure which partition the temp space is using. Is this configurable and how much space does it need for the temp file(s). Using a 1.4 Gig Athlon, didn't realise it would still be highly dependant on HD space.

  4. could your PC be overheating?

    is it overclocked etc?

encoding and stuff like that is mega cpu intensive....if anythings gonna overheat a system its that.
