Im looking for a editor that will let me move the audio or video sync a few frames foward or backwards and save to either avi or vob so I can burn to dvd with the off sync tracks. can someone suggest something.

For avi files, virtualdubmod is pretty easy to use. For VOBs try VideoRedo

  3. For which 'input' video? I don't know an editor which could do something like this for any kind of video (mpeg, avi, h264...)

I would like to edit the audio or video once I have converted the file from whatever source to a vob file. I use win converter. Keep in mind all I want to do is move the Audio tract back one second or move the video signal up a second and burn to dvd. so when I broadcast over the internet it's all sync for the viewers.

Gunns1linger thanks for your input. VideoRedo did just what I wanted. I was able to offset the audio -523 miliseconds and by surprise boost the volume too. then I save the file with a new name and burnt to dvd. I had someone view the offsync video/dvd from a remote location on the internet. they said it was the best sync that they have seen from another home system. had to waste a few dvd's to lock in on the rate, but it was worth it.

Why not either test play from your HDD first, or burn to RW discs instead ? There is no need to waste discs.

Hey Gunn1inger I dont know how to broadcast a vid from my hard drive so I use dvd's to play through my capture card. also the audio shift is for the viewers over the internet as their is a video delay when playing files.

You can still use DVD RWs instead of -R or +R discs. That way you can re-burn them if the sync is wrong. That said, your method does seem to be a long way of doing it. Perhaps if you explained the rest of your process someone might help you refine it.
