I'm having a problem with the VirtualDub I have an avi file and when I try to open it in VirtualDub, it says "Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'xvid' (unknown). VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not sutible."

I have tried Gspot to see if i'm missing any codecs but i'm not. It wats Codec(s) are Installed. So I was wondering if anyone can help me solve the problem.

Virtualdub is telling you exactly what is wrong, and what it needs. You probably have a directshow version of Xvid installed, so you can watch the videos, however virtualdub requires the older architecture, vfw, to decode. download and install this version : http://www.koepi.org/XviD-1.1.2-01112006.exe and try again
