Recommendations for AVI --> DVD pls

I have been using Nero Vision 4.7.0.7 for a while now. Every now and then the resultant DVD has sound sync issues. Normally not a real issue (to me) but sometimes annoying.

I have been reading these forums recently and have come across a number of other people that seem to be having similar issues, and a number of reponses that explain that usually the problem is probobaly CBR vs. VBR.

I understand this, but don't particularly want to go down the alternative routes that have been suggested.

Please can anyone recommend a suitable alternative application.

It needs to be;

¤ Simple and easy to use (GUI rather than command line)
¤ Able to manage very basic menus (like Nero)
¤ Have beeter sucess with sound synch on its output
¤ Able to manage a number of different sources files per DVD

It doesnt need to be;
¤ Fast (I leave it going overnight, or when i go to work)

And ideally it would be free, or at least low cost.

Any ideas?

ConvertXToDVD handles most VBR, but I still save out the audio as a WAV with VDM if I see VBR, then I don't have any surprises with sync issues if ConvertX fails.

If I remember correctly it does everything that you have asked for.
