I'm trying to convert GIFs into AVI files with QTAmateur, but not all the frames are kept. How do I set that up?

It doesn't work. I tried that after someone posted asking about freeware to do that in Windows.
Somehow browsers handle making a gif animated. The first frame of the gif in Preview is not the first frame shown when you play it. The browser sets a delay in displaying each frame so it appears to move.

If you use QT Amateur it plays too fast as well. You would have to write a script to start with frame two, then duplicate each frame three or four times, then pass that off to QTA as a 'gif'.

If you look at my AVATAR ( <--- ), you'll see it is 1 animated GIF, no browser shenanigans. This can be done in Adobe ImageReady, GoLive, Ulead GIF Animator, MS GIF Animation editor, and others. Of those I know of, only ImageReady was/is available for Mac. If that's not feasible, use VirtualPC/VMware or Bootcamp, or borrow a friend's PC.
