I have a DVD that automatically plays when you put it into a player.
There are 24 short movies on the DVD, and I want to add a menu to it so it is possible to skip straight to each movie.

I thought about doing this in DVD Lab, however I have 2 problems...

    1. The DVD i already have is split over 3 .VOB files
(1 and 2 being 27 mins approx and 3 being about 12 mins...)

    and

    2. I want the movie to return to the menu once it's finished each section, rather than playing through the entire VOB file...

I have tried trimming the movie using DVD Lab and an independant VOB trimmer (both with dodgy results)...

What is the quickest way of accomplishing this?

    Thanks!

  2. Use pgcdemux and demux to individual movies (you should get a pair of m2v and ac3/mp2 files for each movie). Then put each movie as an own title on the 'new' DVD

Here is how I would do it.

First, import the first VOB into DLP as an asset. DLP will recognise the others, and offer to demux the VOBs back to Elementary Streams. Say yes and let it do it's thing.

Once it is done, drag the video and audio to a movie object. Frame Index the object (Right-click -> Chapters -> Frame Index). Now add chapters at the start of each section.

Go to the connections window and right-click. Select Add -> Chapter Playlist. Double-click the playlist item, find the first chapter in the drop down list and click on Add to List, then OK. Add the next chapter playlist and repeat for the second chapter. Do this until you have a chapter playlist for each of the 24 items.

Now you can create your menu. If you want a Play All button, link it to your movie object. For each of the items in isolation, link to the respective playlist object.

    Compile and you are done.

Each chapter playlist will function like a movie. You can give each an end action, such as return to the menu.

This sounds helpful, but how would I add in an end action? Is this possible with DVD Lab, or would i need the PRO version?

Should be at the bottom of the connection window. The default should be to return to the menu
