help! i'm old and technically inept!! i have a dvd player thats about three years old but that has hardly ever been used and has been sitting on a shelf gathering dust. i bought myself a nice new tv and decided to hook up the dvd player but it wont play! i put a dvd in, it thinks about it, then spits it back out again. any idea what the problem might be? its an RCADRC310N. cheers!

You said it, it's been sitting on a shelf gathering dust! Some of that dust will be inside it too. Run a cleaning disc through it and it should be fine.

I have a DVD player that was working perfectly, it was left for about a year and didn't work when I next tried it. Lens cleaning disc bunged in and it was back to normal again.
