    Dude...amino acids are SOOOOOOOOOOO kindergarten.

This month is protein folding, and next month they're building their own electron microscope.

Dr. Math thinks it's most likely a typo on the worksheet.

I believe that the laws of physics would also state that it is a typo.

The Seven Dwarfs are having breakfast, and Snow White has just poured them some milk. Before drinking, the dwarfs have a ritual. First, Dwarf #1 splits his milk equally among his brothers' mugs (leaving himself with nothing). Then Dwarf #2 does the same with his milk, etc. The process continues around the table, until Dwarf #7 has distributed his milk in this way. (Note that Dwarf #7 is named Dopey!) At the end, each dwarf has exactly the same amount of milk as he started with! If the total amount of milk was 42 ounces, how much milk did each dwarf have at the beginning?

    None.

The only way for each to have exactly the same at the end (of breakfast) as in the beginning is after they've drank all the milk.

(And the first 6 dwarfs each had one mugfull while dopey got none - depending on the size of the mug of course.)

The first dwarf has 12 oz, the next has 10 than 8, 6,4,2 and finally the last dwarf (Dopey) has 0.

    Looks like Adam has it.
The first one gives 2 oz to each of the others with his 12 going to 0. Do it 6 more times starting with the next one who has 12 oz and it works.

Zapper, my LINK REMOVED text is hand-typed. I did it as a joke, but I have no idea if Dweezel's link was removed by the moderators or if why it might have been removed.

BTW...to answer my question...ok, not really an answer...I'm waiting on the teacher to send home the page from the teacher's edition of the workbook, so I can scan it and attach the jpg. I will tell you that the second Dr. Math that responded to my question had the right idea, but I consider it a trick question. Open your mind and think outside the box, and you'll get it.

I've seen 2 ridiculous questions myself on kids homework. My nephew had one that had six adults all scratching their heads, not only did we not know the answer but couldn't even make sense of it. I don't think it was typo unless they combined two questions accidently... Saw another one a a ex-girlfriends daughters homework the same way...
