Video editing programs - importing clips - problems - Sony Vegas, Edius

Hi! I've been trying to choose an editing program for months. I've tried Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canopus Edius. I have some problems importing clips with all these programs.

Sony Vegas:

When I import divx clip, it doesn't have sound.

Adobe Premiere Pro:

When I import divx clip, it has just sound, no picture.

Canopus Edius:

I cannot import divx clip at all.


In order to solve these problems I have used different codec packs like K-lite, ACE. I have tried to use simple codecs like divx, xvid. But the result is the same.

I tried Avid Xpress. There were no problems like that but it's to hard for my PC.

Please, help me solving the above problems!

Which program would you recomend to me?

Are you downloading DivX? or capturing to DivX?

Many advanced editors are not designed to handle divx,xvid,wmv. But I would use vegas, just convert the audio in the divx to wav with for example goldwave(open avi and save wav) and then use it in vegas.

Divx should not be used for capture. It is designed for distribution after you are done editing.

Explain better your project flow.
