dvb-t usb dongle question

Dear Forum
Using the above device here in UK, I employ the bundled blazevideo DVT (2) software to watch digital telly on the computer
Please does anyone know if this software is the only option available or is there any other programs free or otherwise that would do the same or similar job

The bundled software usually works best.

But there are some other software dvb software like ProgDVB, DVBViewer, RitzDVB and some HTPC tools has DVB support like Media Portal, GBPVR. You have to test them to check if they support your dvb usb.

Thank you for these : please do you know if one can record subtitles also with any of these blaze video doesnt seem to be able to do this

I don't think any can record and add the subtitles permanent to the video. But they can record into a .ts (transport stream) and then you can extract the subtitle stream using for example projectx and then you can manually add the subtitle to the video...yes, tons of work...
